Getting a student loan in Alberta is now easier and the online application process offers new features that help students manage their loans. “The bottom line is that we listened to students,” said Stephen Khan, Minister Enterprise and Advanced Education as he officially launched the Apply Alberta website at MacEwan University on August 28, 2012. Question by Alex: What happens to the status of student loans if I transfer undergraduate schools?
I just transferred undergraduate schools and still have some student loans from my previous school (Sallie Mae and Federal Direct loans). Is there some sort of clearing house that my new enrollment status will be sent to so that the loan agencies know that I haven’t just stopped going to school (and thus cause my loan payments to become due)? Or must I obtain enrollment verification from my current school and send it to each loan agency myself?

Although most lenders find out if you transfer schools, it’s best not to wait to hear from them, as they may have you in repayment status, and if you go too long without making a payment, you’ll default which will ruin your chances of federal aid in the future.

Best thing to do is call each loan servicer, inform them that you changed educational institutions, and ask if they need you to provide anything to them to keep your loans in good standing with them.

Good luck with your education!

Gund Arena

Gund Arena(Now named Quicked Loans Arena), Cleveland, Ohio

With the Cleveland Cavaliers clinching the Eastern Conference title, I searched and found the photos I have on one of the few visits I made to this arena years back. This photo is taken way before this arena is named Quicken Loans arena, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers team. When this was bought by Quicken Loans from Gund(the former owner of the Cavaliers), it was renamed Quicken Loans arena.

This photo was taken on the last game of the Jordan-Led Chicago bulls championship team at Cleveland. At this time, the players are in their pre-game warmups. Notable players for the Bulls that time were Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc, Rodman, Harper and Kerr. From the Cavaliers, were Shawn Kemp, Sura(Bob), and Ilgauskas(yes, he was already there back then).

This photo is a scanned image of an original print taken by my first camera Ricoh 35mm film camera (model XF 30). Don’t laugh now, I used that camera for 10 years. You may not even find a description of it in the internet these days.

Christophorus 3 at its base at LOAN (Wiener Neustadt East). Not as spacious in there as you might think from outside (especially for patient, emergency physician and paramedic).

    Hi Mark!

Yes, he played for the Sonics before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1997.

Kemp played there a year or so, but he was way past his prime like when he was in the sonics.

Actually he was one of the Sonics superstar players. He was great for Seatle and sucked for us. I actually forgot that we had Shawn Kemp until I read the description. And as for the big Z-man, we’ve had him for about 10 years.

I remember going to the Gund for a Cavs/Hornets game wearing my Glenn Rice (#41 for Charlotte) jersey and almost getting into a fight with a CSU prick. Good times.

Boy, people weren’t kidding about those blue seats. This was obviously pre-Leprick (Lebron).
