The squirrel finally figured out how to get into the birdfeeder. Darn squirrel… he’s scaring away all my birds! Better to view large.

Question by candlelite: what is the difference in being paid a salary and being paid hourly?
1.Which will pay more?
2. If workers are not working every day of the month do they need to be paid by the hour or a salary.(11 or 12 days each month)
3.Any more information you can provide in a clear answer I greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for the responses.Please make sure you definitely include the second question in your responses as well.

being paid hourly means you get paid only for the hours you work but also get paid overtime pay when you work enough hours. salary pay means you get paid your regular 40 hours a week pay even if you call in sick or take vacation time but you rarely get paid time and a half. if you work more than 44 hrs per week you still only get straight time pay

"Are you a model?"
"Do you get paid for it?"
"Can I take a picture with you?"

A photoshoot can only last so long at my house because the neighborhood children seem to swarm in like a crowd of…..kids.

    Hope you let these fish go quickly. Sturgeon are the most endangered fish you have in those rivers………….If one of them passes away because of a huge photo-op I would be pretty pissed off at you guys!

    That fish is probably older than you!

    I think people should just leave sturgeon alone and fish for something else……..they are too vulnerable to fishing, even if it’s catch and release. I once watched as aboriginals proceeded to net 100’s upoon 100’s of young sturgeon into their boats in Northern Quebec. It was one of the most upsetting things i’ve seen. I thought natives were the protectors of the land? If netting several hundred sturgeon per day is considered being a protector of our country then I guess they are protectors of our country…….It was clear they were doing it for commercial reasons, to sell the eggs as caviar and to export or sell the sturgeon meat.

    Treat this fish well, they are not the average Bass or Pike…these fish are magical and deserve our attention and respect……it would be nice if they will be around when I am in my 50-60’s……….but i have a feeling at the rate we’re losing them, they won’t be here at that time.

    Salary= Fixed amount of pay per period. No Overtime pay. ie; Salary = $ 1,000/week. Work 15 hours in a week, get $ 1,000. Work 50 hours in a week, get $ 1000.
    Hourly= Get paid an hourly wage X # of hours worked. ie: Wage= $ 25/hour. Work 15 hours, get $ 375. Work 50 hours, get $ 1250. Additionally, most hourly workers get time & 1/2 for hours worked over 40/week. So in a typical 50 hour week the calc would be (40X$ 25)+ (10X $ 25)+ (10×12.50)=$ 1375.
