hey day 100. look at that… i remember last years day 100… i made a bit more of a fuss about it.

so, today i spent 100 bucks at walmart on groceries and stuff i needed, and then i paid one of my two speeding tickets.

this ticket was the one that i for sure won’t be going to court for… it got it about 4 hours away and i would have to report there at 8:30am…. so eff that.

the dude totally trapped me, i was going 71 in a 70 and then BOOM it changes to 50 for like 1 mile for construction. this cop was parked RIGHT at the beginning of the construction zone… i didnt even have a chance to see the speed was changing and slow down.
0 goes bye bye.

the other ticket is total bull too… 44 in a 35… ill be fighting that one.

It’s not an exact pay scale. Different research studies pay different rates.

Here’s our lil Sweetheart Miss CJ. This pic was taken in May.
I’ll post some other pics of her but she is already 57 pounds in this pic and just at 5 months old.

Im sorry I haven’t been on here in awhile………..Naturally I was busy busy busy and I got paid back for it all too. Does everyone remember how sick I was last year with my lymph glands all swollen and the Dr’s thinking I had Lymphoma????? Well, we finally figured it allllllllll out. Right now I’m in the hospital because I’ve got black ulcers in my tummy which they think are now full of bacteria…..They did a biopsy of them but…. It’s good that I’m here because now I can post my babies….YEAH!!!! Im kinda forced to slow it down…..anyways, Im feeling better and believe it or not all of that swelling in all of my Lymph glands is going down. amazing huh? Im doing much better now….still in pain but they give me lots of pain meds. I crawled into the emergency room last Tuesday morning just exhausted from getting sick every hour for the previous 27 hours. I just can’t believe all of the tests i went through last year and they never found it. Two trips to the emergency room last year….a incorrent diagnosis of "gallbladder Disease" or " Maam, you have gass…drink this" lol. Sad but true…..Im so happy the puzzle is now complete and Im on my way to recovery..

again, I will try not to let so much time go by without posting. Ive gotta learn to stop and smell the Doggies. LOL

p.s. I can recieve mail only through Flickr. Isnt it cool that hospitals nowadays have WIFI for their patients???? Way COOL!

Not much happening today. Edited my photo from last night and then watched "Interview with the Vampire" for the first time in a long time. It was kind of cool seeing it in HD.

Thought I was making some money tonight on a photography gig before realizing that I had already been paid for it a few months back. It was a dinner event that was supposed to happen earlier. I got paid for it a week before it was supposed to happen and then it got cancelled. The lady told me to keep the money cause she knew she’d need me again. Glad I remembered before putting my hand out for a check… that could have been awkward.

Tonight Tam and I went walking and we talked about how spoiled we are now. We used to be so poor when we first got married and we had so many forces that threated to tear us apart. These days we’re a lot more comfortable with our station in life.

I pondered whether we’d be even better off if I just began doing photography full time. I’m always so afraid of all the paperwork and taxes though. I’m just not good at keeping up with that sort of thing. I’d definitely have to hire someone to keep track of it for me. I know that I don’t want to continue woking for "the man" the rest of my life though. My freelance clients are always asking me why I even bother with a regular day job. But it’s so much easier when you know there’s a steady paycheck and insurance and free cable… yadda.

Anyway, my 365 plans for tonight fell through since Clarissa had a friend over and I didn’t want to embarass her with what I’m sure would have looked very silly to her friend. Maybe later.

oh I hate freakin cops and their tickets. ugh! here in Florida you can’t "fight" them or go to court for them– you take an online driver’s safety class and you don’t get the points but you still have to pay the fine PLUS the cost of the online course. But hey, it’s worth it for no points. In NJ everybody would go to court– but in all the years I drove like a bat out of hell in NJ I never got a ticket. Here? That’s a different story! The south is like a venus fly trap for speeders.

Hey awesome lighting in this one. So even!

Oh my gosh 100 already!! Not much farther now! Okay okay, kidding! Seriously though, what is it about WalMart? I can never get out of there under $100 and the cops here do the same thing but they have a tendency to hide in the same spots. Your expression says it all!!

Dude, if you went freelance as a photographer you’d be a millionaire I’m sure! You could do the most awesome album covers and all sorts. How cool would that be?! Working for the man does suck, and my experience is there’s no such thing as job security anymore so why not go for it and see what happens? The very worst that could happen is you’d have to go back and work for the man but at least you’d have given the freelance thing a punt. It sounds like you have quite a lot of clients already who’d be willing to spread the good word and you have the skills for it so why not?

And this is another awesome photo by the way!

lol if Clarissa is doing 365 I’m sure her friends are familiar with the ridicularity that ensues.

But I actually really love this. We end up striving so much for creativity it’s really refreshing to see a frank, classic portrait!

Usually only phase 1 pays because subjects on phase 1 are true volunteers and have no benefit from the trial other than money. Subjects in later phases are not paid as they have the disease/condition in question and are benefiting from the care plus you want them to do the trial for the right reasons and not for the money.

So for what pays the most, usually trials where you stay to stay in clinic for a long period of time. I recently worked on a study where subjects stayed in clinic for 2 weeks (ie stay overnight for 2 weeks, no going home, no going outside etc etc) and then they had to attend once a week for 2 months afterwards – that one paid quite well. People who do trials like that are usually students or unemployed. Another one I know of which paid well was one which didn’t involve any stay in clinic but the subject was required to come along to the clinic at something like once a month for two years. So really what it boils down to is the more inconvenienced you will be by the study, the more you will get paid.

I don’t know any exact figure as I’m not involved in the money side of things.
